Beast of Reincarnation has one ending — there are no branches, choices or secret endings, despite what a few pre-release pages claimed. Everything below is full spoilers for the finale and epilogue.

How Many Endings Are There?

Exactly one. Two independent post-release breakdowns walk through the same single finale, with no choice points, no ranking conditions and no NG+-exclusive ending. A couple of sites published “all three endings” pages before launch — those were speculative placeholders, and their story details contradict the released game. You can play the last chapter without worrying about locking anything out (nothing in the game is missable — see NG+ & missables).

The Ending Explained — Full Spoilers

The blight isn’t a natural curse: it’s runaway technology roughly 2,000 years old. The “Beast of Reincarnation” itself is Mikoto — not a person but a nanite swarm originally built to upload human souls for the Shambhala project, wearing a human face for Emma’s benefit throughout the game.

In Chapter 13, Emma refuses to become the next Beast and defeats Mikoto. To end the cycle she absorbs the blight from Koo’s body into her own — killing her. With its last strength, Mikoto performs one final reincarnation: the satellite falls, the blight dissipates, and Emma wakes in a new body with the game’s closing line — “I’m back.”

What the Epilogue Means

The epilogue, Bearing Fruit, plays out after the credits: the world begins recovering without the blight, and Emma’s rebirth mirrors the chapter-title metaphor that runs through the whole game — seed, bloom, fall, and fruit (see the chapter list). It also hands control back for post-game cleanup and unlocks New Game Plus with the Reincarnation-themed rewards.

The Three Questions Everyone Asks

  • Is Koo okay? Yes — absorbing the blight is precisely what saves Koo; the cost falls on Emma, and the rebirth undoes it.
  • Who was Mikoto all along? The respec-granting ally you call from the Cleanse Walker is the Beast itself — the game’s longest-running sleight of hand.
