Beast of Reincarnation Charms — All 15 and How They Work

Updated August 9, 2026 · Facts cross-checked against the sources listed below

Charms are Koo’s equipment, not Emma’s, and he only ever has one slot — no amount of rapport adds a second. There are five types across three tiers. Every charm drops as an unidentified Decayed Charm and only becomes a real charm when you rest at a campsite — and what it turns into is random.

All Five Charm Types

Each type comes in three tiers. The main stat is fixed by type and tier; the secondary effect is rolled at random from that tier’s pool, so two ATK Charm IIs can behave very differently.

Sourcing note: the +40% and +70% HP figures are confirmed by two independent references. The other thirteen main-stat values come from a single wiki single source — they look internally consistent, but nobody has published a second set to check them against. Precise multipliers you may see elsewhere (things like “+2% per crit stacking to 50%”) trace back to one unverifiable site and are not repeated here.

Secondary Effects Worth Rolling

These are the ones with published in-game descriptions, and a few are build-defining:

  • Experience — boosts XP gain (the tier-3 version is stated at +10%). Compounding, so it is worth more the earlier you get it.
  • Lucky — boosts Amber gained. Pairs with everything in the Amber farming guide.
  • Extra Hit — bonus damage against enemies that already have a status effect, which makes it the natural partner to an element-focused build.
  • Crit Boost — after Emma or Koo lands a critical hit, Koo’s damage rises for 10 seconds.
  • Drench and Oil — these apply the two carrier states that drive the game’s combo reactions: Drenched into a Lightning attack, or Oily into a Flame attack. Rolling one of these turns Koo into a setup tool for Emma’s damage.
  • Burn, Poison, Corrode, Shock, Lightning — inflict or accelerate the matching status buildup.

How You Actually Get Them

  1. Loot Decayed Charms. They drop from Rusted Golems, and turn up in chests, containers and locked strongboxes. Rusted Golems respawn when you rest at a campsite, so they can be farmed.
  2. Rest at any campsite. The Decayed Charm identifies itself into a real charm.
  3. Accept the roll. Type, tier and secondary effect are all decided at that moment, randomly.

Reported drop areas include the Ogouchi Buffer Zone (the Cliffside Village locked strongbox, trench crates, the Ruined Tower, containers south of Subcity 02), the Ancient Civilization Zone (locked strongboxes plus golems in the clearings and canyon), and Pilgrim’s Zone (near the broken bridge, the pipe cave, and the Stone Chamber) single source.

But treat any “this spot gives charm X” list with suspicion — including ones you find elsewhere. Because identification is random, a location can only tell you where to find more Decayed Charms, never which charm you will end up with.

Three Things People Get Wrong

This system attracts bad information, so here are the corrections plainly:

ClaimReality
“Decayed Charm is a weak charm type”It is the unidentified state every charm drops in — not a type
“Shock Charm / Poison Charm / Corrode Charm”Those are secondary effects. The five types are HP, ATK, DEF, Skill and Critical
“Raise rapport to unlock more charm slots”Rapport unlocks skill and item slots. The charm slot is always one

The Clutter Problem

Worth knowing before you farm: there is currently no way to get rid of a charm you don’t want — you can’t sell, scrap or drop them, so every duplicate stays in your inventory permanently. Given the single equip slot, farming Decayed Charms in bulk mostly buys you a longer list to scroll past. Identify what you find as you go, keep playing, and let the good roll come to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many charms can Koo equip at once?

Exactly one, for the entire game. Two independent references confirm the single slot. Claims that you can fit a second charm on his collar or unlock more slots through rapport are wrong — rapport adds skill slots and item slots, never charm slots.

What is a Decayed Charm?

An unidentified charm. It is not a charm type of its own — it is the husk every charm drops as, looted from Rusted Golems, chests and strongboxes. It does nothing in your inventory until you rest at a campsite, which identifies it.

Can you choose what a Decayed Charm becomes?

No. Identification is randomized, so two players looting the same golem can end up with completely different charms. That means no guide can honestly tell you "this location gives you the ATK Charm III" — a location only determines how many Decayed Charms you collect.

Can charms be upgraded, duplicated or sold?

None of the three. There is no charm enhancement system, no way to copy one, and — as of now — no way to sell, scrap or drop the ones you do not want. Unwanted charms simply sit in your inventory.

What is the best charm in Beast of Reincarnation?

It depends on what your build needs, and because identification is random you largely use what you get. As a rule: HP Charm III (+70% Max HP) and DEF Charm III (+70% Defense) are the biggest raw numbers, while ATK and Critical charms scale a damage build. The secondary effect often matters more than the tier — a charm rolling Experience or Lucky changes how fast you progress.

Are Shock Charm, Poison Charm and Corrode Charm real charms?

No — those are secondary effect names, not charm types. Shock, Poison, Corrode, Drench, Oil and the rest are rolled onto a charm alongside its main stat. The charm itself is always one of the five types: HP, ATK, DEF, Skill or Critical.

Are charms the same as Spirit Stones?

No, they are two separate systems. Charms go on Koo, one at a time. Spirit Stones go into slots on Emma’s armor, up to six at once. See our Spirit Stones and Armor guides for that side of the build.
