Beast of Reincarnation Armor — All 14 Pieces & Locations
Updated August 9, 2026 · Facts cross-checked against the sources listed below

All 14 Armor Pieces
Sorted by where you find them. Defense values shown as a / b are ones the sources disagree on — see the conflicts section below rather than taking either number as settled.
| Armor | Def | Slots | Awareness | Resistances | Zone | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light Gambeson | 17 | 5 | Low | — | Starting gear | Equipped from the start |
| Chain Mail | 24 / 25 | 4 | Extreme | Flame 50 | Ogouchi Buffer Zone | Strongbox by Cliff-Facing Tower camp, above the Rangifer arena lake |
| Thick Cuirass | 29 | 4 | Medium | Poison 60 | Ancient Civilization Zone | Ch. 2 — corridor beside the room where you first meet Kunai, near Tunnel Ruins: Interior camp |
| Garb of Tranquility | 23 | 4 | Nonexistent | Acid 60 | Ancient Civilization Zone | Inside the giant pipe on the east side, past Ruins Slope: Approach camp |
| Insulating Mail | 32 | 5 | Extreme | Lightning 70 | The Great Wall Terraces | Top of the power-plant structure on the west side, in the hut — west of Mountain Village: Entrance camp |
| Floral Wraps | 30 / 31 | 6 | Low | Acid 50 | The Great Wall Terraces | Strongbox by Old Sagami Colony: Approach camp, right next to the Nushi lair |
| Leather Garb | 34 | 4 | High | Flame 80 | Pilgrim's Zone | Ch. 4 — Cave Depths camp, during the Origin of the Ringing cave crossing |
| Scale Coat | 36 | 5 | Extreme | Poison 70 | Matsukawa Zone | East side of the map, nearest camp Ruins: Approach |
| Mirror Guard | 45 | 4 | High | Acid 80 | Matsukawa Zone | Far west, behind an Elite enemy — reported as inside Library Hall |
| Dance Attire | 39 | 6 | Low | Flame 60 · Lightning 60 | Fuji Frontier Zone | Strongbox beside a Wandering Merchant, nearest camp Collapsed Pipes: Approach |
| Amber Breastplate | 48 / 49 | 6 | Extreme | Acid 90 | Giant Tree Zone | Ch. 7 — beside Giant Tree: Root Depths camp, early in the zone |
| Silver Cuirass | 52 | 5 | Medium | Poison 60 · Lightning 60 | Giant Tree Zone | North-west, on a platform of tree branches — nearby camp disputed (Feeding Ground vs Cableway Line 2: Terminal Stop) |
| Ornate Robe | 54 | 5 | Low | Flame 80 · Lightning 80 | Crater Zone | Ch. 8 — inside the crater fortress by the control panel, during Cavern Gates |
| God Tree Guard | 59 | 6 | High | Poison 80 · Acid 80 | The Capital Zone | Strongbox beside Sewage Works: Ingress camp, late story |
Slot distribution: five pieces have 4 slots, five have 5, and four have the maximum 6. Every piece except the starting Gambeson comes out of a strongbox — none are bought, and none are missable.
Naming note: two guides call the Chapter 7 area “Great Tree Zone” for Silver Cuirass but “Giant Tree Zone” for Amber Breastplate. It’s the same zone — we use Giant Tree Zone throughout.
Enemy Awareness — the Stat Nobody Explains
Alongside defense, every piece carries an Enemy Awareness rating on a five-step scale: Nonexistent → Low → Medium → High → Extreme. The higher it is, the more easily enemies notice you. All four sources agree on every piece’s rating, so this table is solid ground.
It creates a genuine trade-off rather than a strict upgrade path. Garb of Tranquility is the only armor in the game with Nonexistent awareness — 23 defense is poor, but nothing spots you. At the other end, Amber Breastplate and Insulating Mail are Extreme: strong numbers, but you will be fighting everything in the room.
Best Armor by Playstyle
| You want | Take | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best overall / boss fights | God Tree Guard | 59 defense, 6 slots, Poison + Acid 80. Awareness doesn’t matter when the fight is unavoidable |
| Stealth | Ornate Robe | Highest defense (54) among the Low-awareness pieces |
| Total invisibility | Garb of Tranquility | The only Nonexistent awareness in the game — worth carrying even at 23 defense |
| Earliest 6-slot setup | Floral Wraps | Chapter 3, next to a camp — maximum slots far earlier than anything else |
| Acid zones | Amber Breastplate | Acid 90, the highest single resistance value on any piece |
| Lightning zones | Insulating Mail | Lightning 70 — the dedicated pick before Ornate Robe exists |
Slots matter more than raw defense once you have a Spirit Stone set worth running, which is why Floral Wraps stays useful well past the point its defense number looks obsolete.
Where the Sources Disagree
We cross-checked every value across four independent references. Six fields don’t line up, and since two of them change what you would actually equip, here they are rather than a single clean number:
| Piece | Field | Published values | Our read |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scale Coat | Defense | 31 / 36 / 37 | 36 — the outlier 31 is identical to Floral Wraps, which looks like a copy error |
| Mirror Guard | Slots | 4 or 5 | 4 — three references to one |
| Silver Cuirass | Defense | 51 or 52 | 52 — three to one |
| Chain Mail | Defense | 24 or 25 | Even split ⚠ unresolved |
| Floral Wraps | Defense | 30 or 31 | Even split ⚠ unresolved |
| Amber Breastplate | Defense | 48 or 49 | Even split ⚠ unresolved |
One methodological note, since it affects how much weight to give “two sites agree”: two of the big location guides publish word-for-word identical stat blocks and went live 36 minutes apart. We treat them as one source, not two.
Armor Is Not the Same as Outfits
These get confused constantly, so: armor lives in the Equipment menu, is found in the world, and drives defense, slots, resistance and awareness. Outfits and skins live in the Special Content menu at the Cleanse Walker bed, are pre-order and Deluxe bonuses only, and are cosmetic — see outfits. You cannot earn extra outfits by playing.
The open question is whether equipping armor changes Emma’s model. No guide site addresses it. Players in the Steam discussions report that Emma stays in her default Sealer outfit all game regardless of what you equip, and the community threads asking for visual variety support that. We’re calling it ⚠ reported, not confirmed until someone shows it definitively.
The Fake Armor Set Going Around
Worth flagging because it looks convincing: several pages describe a “Shrine Maiden Set” said to be Emma’s best armor, with a set bonus cutting Spirit Dash cooldown by 30%, earned from a Lost Souls side quest by collecting ten Lost Soul Fragments in the Asura Palace.
None of it is real. Not the armor, not the quest, not the location, not the items, not the mechanic. None of those names appear in any legitimate reference for this game. If a page is telling you to farm Lost Soul Fragments, close it — whatever else it says about this game is equally untrustworthy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best armor in Beast of Reincarnation?
God Tree Guard, and all three sites that rank armor agree. It has the highest defense in the game (59), the maximum 6 Spirit Stone slots, and resists both Poison and Acid at 80. Its one drawback is High enemy awareness, so for stealth play Ornate Robe (54 defense, Low awareness) is the better pick.
How many armor pieces are there — 14 or 15?
Fourteen. We counted the rows in every published list rather than trusting a summary, and all four sources land on the same 14 names. No source anywhere claims a fifteenth piece.
Are there armor set bonuses?
No. Emma has a single armor slot and wears one piece at a time, so set bonuses are not structurally possible, and no source mentions them. Be aware that a fabricated "Shrine Maiden Set" with a Spirit Dash cooldown bonus is circulating online, complete with an invented quest and location. None of it exists in the game.
Can you upgrade or enhance armor?
No. Weapons have a full enhancement system, but no guide lists any armor upgrade path — the only way to improve your protection is to find a better piece or slot better Spirit Stones. Note that no source explicitly says "armor cannot be upgraded"; this is the consistent absence across every armor reference.
Does armor change how Emma looks?
Almost certainly not. Armor is equipped in the Equipment menu and affects only stats; Emma’s appearance comes from the Special Content menu on the Cleanse Walker, which currently holds only pre-order and Deluxe skins. Steam discussion threads from players report that Emma stays in her default Sealer outfit throughout. No guide site addresses this directly, so we flag it as reported rather than confirmed.
How many Spirit Stone slots can Emma have?
Six, and the number comes entirely from the armor you wear — it is a stat on the piece, not something you level up. Four pieces give the maximum 6: Floral Wraps, Dance Attire, Amber Breastplate and God Tree Guard.
Is there New Game Plus or endgame-exclusive armor?
No. NG+ carries your armor over and adds exclusive rewards — the Kanzashi blade, a final Blade Art and Bloom Art, and the Rejuvenating Barrier skill — but no armor. All 14 pieces are obtainable in a single playthrough. (The Kanzashi’s effect is called "Robes of Reincarnation" despite being a sword perk, which trips people up.)
